MILLER DELUSIONS

It is now well known that in this city, many of the believers in the doctrine that the world will come to an end this year, are having ascension robes made with which to mount up to the regions of bliss.

Another instance is this. – The Tower of the German Lutheran Church, which fell with such a crash a night or two since, shook the adjacent earth and houses dreadfully, and especially the dwelling of Mr. P. Emmons, who is so well known to our citizens. In the dead of the night he was called upon, and desired to get up. “No.” says he – “wait a while, and you will see all the other buildings fall in a moment. The end of the world has come, and I shall behold my Jesus in half an hour”

"Miller Delusions." The Summit Beacon 25 Jan. 1843: 1:3.
