The Enterprise
Manufacturing Company &
E.A. Pflueger Company

In 1881 a company was founded by the name of
Enterprise Manufacturing Company. Ernest F. Pflueger started
started the company making only glass minnows that only made him
$100 the first year. By 1886 he had developed enough of a business
to organize a company that took over the American Fish Hook Co. of
New Haven, Connecticut.

When his son Earnest A. Pflueger took over the
family business, he founded the E.A. Pflueger Company. EA Pflueger
expanded the company from a hook manufacturer to all aspects of
fishing tackle & gear. In 1916 the first Pflueger Baitcast reel
was manufactured in Akron, Ohio, and became a benchmark of the
fishing reel industry.
Today, Pflueger continues to be one of the
world's leading rod and reel manufacturers.
